It’s been far too long since I shared some new scenes from my in process screenplay, The Well, with my loyal Marglish readers.  Of course, the extreme lack of comments, as politely requested, suggests that you all may have missed the previous two entires.

For your reading pleasure, I’ve decided to post the next 7 pages.  Those pages also happen to contain the ever controversial “title scene.”  Screenwriters occasionally seem to find incorporating the title of a film gracefully into the screenplay, to be a nearly impossible task.  We’ve all seen just as many groan worthy attempts as we have winners.  Remember all of these?

So give my pages a read and let me know how you think I did.  Graceful or groan worthy?  Of course, a really good title contains several meanings.  So what else do you think “The Well” could possibly mean?  I’ll be looking forward to those comments. Hint hint.

The Well – Pages 11-17

Today I’m not only going to continue posting segments of my latest in process script, The Well, but I’m also going to use this opportunity to ask my Marglish readers to help me make a creative decision.  This technological age offers us so many advantages for collaboration.  My current writing partner lives on the other side of the country, my editors (a.k.a. very smart family members) live in another hemisphere, yet they have still contributed so much to the creation and polishing of my work.  Since I’m putting my creative process out there on the interwebs, I figured I might as well use it to my advantage.

When The Well was still in outline form, I intended for one of the four characters to be my protagonist.  Then when I started to actually write, another character emerged as the one with a more intriguing story.  Now as I iron out my arcs, I find myself wondering which path to follow.  So this is your chance to tell me.  Weather you’re fellow writers, filmmakers, family or friends, I’d like to hear your opinion.  Take at look at these pages and tell me who you think the hero is.
