Iconic Australia

I’m about to leave for another trip out of my little (massive) state of New South Whales and to some iconic Australian sites.  I’ll be heading first up to the Great Barrier Reef, a world famous natural site which promises to be beautiful even if a little rainy this time of year.  Then I’ll be heading over to Uluru, a.k.a Ayer’s Rock, a.k.a. the Rock.  The hottest part of the year is not the smartest time to go to either of these places but I’m looking forward to the journey nonetheless.  Unlike the compliments with a grain of salt that the Blue Mountains tend to receive from Aussies and tourists alike, not a one has every had less than praise for Uluru.  Seeing this, quite literal, heart of Australia is apparently a truly spiritual experience.  I have four days to soak it in, and hopefully avoid soaking in too much sun at the same time.

I’ll see you all at the end of February!

  1. You could spend 4 days at just the reef and 2 days at Uluru. Plus there is alot of cool stuff north of Alice Springs. Someday, before you leave the land of Oz, you should take the north bound train all the way, from end to end. I would live in the land of Oz if they would let me!
